  2005 Publinks Better-Ball Championship  
  Final Results  
     
  Limerick, PA - Chris Sylvia, Willowbrook GC, and Tom Carter, Greate Bay GC, captured the Philadelphia Publinks 2005 Better-Ball team championship by 3 shots with an impressive 8-under par 64 on the 6,722 yard layout at Turtle Creek GC.  The winning duo went out in 33, with birdies by Carter on number 2 and Sylvia on holes 4 and 7.  The back nine 31 included a birdie by Sylvia on 15 and 3 birdies (11, 14, 18) and an eagle (13) by Carter.  The team's lone bogey of the day came on the 399 yard par-4 16th.  
       Brian Fisher and John Silknitter, Kimberton GC, tied Bob Fritz and Roger Stone, also from Kimberton GC for runner-up honors with 5-under par 67.  2003 Philadelphia Publinks champion Buck Jones from Linfield National GC teamed with Jim Yenser from Arrowhead GC to finish 4th with a round of 4-under par 68.  
       Defending Champions, Byron Whitman and Brent Wiley, Golden Oaks GC, finished tied for 9th with a 1-under par 71.  Three birdies on the outward nine fueled the 2004 champions hopes for a repeat performance in 2005.  The quest was derailed, however, with 2 bogeys against one birdie for a back nine 37.
